The Dog that looked for fire

Man had fire.

Only Man had fire.

Wolf had no fire , wolf was hungry and cold.

Wolf and Dog were friends.

Wolf said to Dog,

“The Pueblo Indians have fire. Go and rob a spark from them”.

Dog approached Man.

“Hello, Dog”, they said to him.

“Hello, Dog”, as if he were one of them.

They gave him food and let him sleep under a roof.

The next day they gave him food again.

And he slept in front of the fire.

He was neither hungry nor cold.

Dog forgot about Wolf.

And Dog forgot about robbing the spark from Man.

This is the story about the Dog and the Wolf, as told by the Pueblo Indians, so named because they did not live in tepees but in houses
